Locums was set up in 1986 by Ros Jones. At that time she was working as a medical secretary at St Matthew's Hospital in Burntwood and recognized the need for the provision of well trained medical secretaries to provide cover. Following enquiries from many legal firms, she broadened Locums' scope to include legal secretaries and also personal secretaries. Medical secretaries have been provided to many local hospitals including Queen's Hospital, Burton on Trent; Lichfield Victoria Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, Sutton Coldfield; Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth; Hammerwich Hospital; St Giles Hospice; Derby Royal Infirmary and also in the private sector including Little Aston Hospital and the Nuffield Hospital, Derby. We also place secretaries in many local GP surgeries. Legal secretaries have enjoyed assignments in several legal firms in the area. Secretarial work is also carried out in-house for many clients who do not wish to employ a permanent secretary.
